ACT takes great care in ensuring our assessments measure targeted content standards and are fair to all students. All the items on our assessments go thorough review by both internal and external reviewers. We also study data across demographics and geographies to ensure all the items are fair and do not show bias towards any group of students.
ACT is looking for independent and impartial individuals to serve as content reviewers to help us fulfill our mission that includes opening doors to increase equity, access, and success.
The review includes, but is not limited to:
· Work the items and provide the keys
· Comment if the wording of an item is unclear and/or allows multiple keys or no key
· Comment if the item is not appropriate for the test (not grade appropriate, requires a calculator, takes too much time, etc.)
The diversity of our content reviewers is important, and as such, we are always seeking to broaden our diversity in all areas—race, ethnicity, gender, geographical background, etc.
