Society for the Preservation of Ancient Studies at Arizona State University

Society for the Preservation of Ancient Studies at Arizona State University is devoted to furthering the multi-disciplinary study of archaeology, classical literature, cultural anthropology, historiography, linguistics, and religious studies by inspiring the ASU student body through discovery of the ancient world. SPAS at ASU hopes to spark interest in antiquity by bringing in a wide range of academics and practitioners of various religious and cultural traditions to share their research and insights. This club was founded with the intention of looking at how the echoes of the past live on today in the voices of the present. Only by understanding how our world and its various traditions came to be, can we as members of a global society appreciate, learn, and respect the similarities and differences that humanity shares.
